Vapes, Explained.

What’s a vape, you say? Get ready to inhale some hot knowledge.

Generally speaking, vaping is when you inhale cannabis by heating it without burning it. You can vape flower and concentrates using a vaporizer or dab rig, but that’s not what we’re talking about today. We’re here to share our smarts about the wonderful world of carts.

What’s a cart?

Vape cartridges – or carts – are pre-filled glass chambers that attach to a reusable, rechargeable battery. They’re filled with different types of liquid-like cannabis extracts, and can be made using specific strains or a blend of cannabinoids & terpenes.

What are the different types of extracts used in vapes?

Distillate Oil

This is probably the most common & popular type of vape cart. Distillate is a pure, high-potency, isolated THC oil. It’s made by taking premium plant material through a distillation process. Extracted oil is heated until it vaporizes, then those vapors are condensed in them into a translucent, viscous product. Finally, like adding a cherry to a sundae, both cannabis-derived and botanical-derived terpenes are reintroduced to the oil to enhance the distillate’s flavor and effects.

Live Sauce

Live Sauce is the cannabis concentrate with the freshest, most flavorful strain-specific terpene and cannabinoid profile. It’s considered “live” because it’s extracted from cannabis plants that are harvested at peak freshness, when desired compounds like cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids are mature and found in max concentrations in the resin glands. Instead of going through the usual dry or cure steps, the “wet” plant material is flash-frozen and immediately prepared for extraction. This process keeps the ratios of terpenes and cannabinoids the same as what you’d find in the flower.

Cured Sauce

Cured Sauce is a cannabis concentrate extracted from dried and cured cannabis. It goes through the drying process that its “live” counterpart skips, resulting in a less-intense flavor profile. The same advanced post-extraction processing techniques used to create Live Sauce ensure that beneficial cannabinoids are well protected, so even though the strain’s signature flavor may be subdued, you’ll still feel the full potency of its effects.

So… which one should I try?

You do you! Choosing the type of vape you want comes down to personal preference. Are you looking for an experience similar to smoking flower? Look no further than Live Sauce carts. If you want the feel-goods of flower with a more mellow aroma, Cured Sauce carts are for you. Just trying to catch the vibes without getting too deep in the world of terps? Distillate carts all day, bay-bay.
